A 1932 model goldeneye drake decoy by the Ward Brothers (Crisfield, Md.) sold for $80,500 at the annual Spring Decoy Auction, held April 23-24 by Guyette & Deeter (based in St. Michaels, Md.) at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Ill. Also, a preening scoter by Gus Wilson (South Portland, Me.) flew off for $69,000; a classic pintail hen by John English (Bordentown, N.J.) realized $40,250; a sunfish plaque by Oscar Peterson made $17,250; and a canvasback drake by John R. Wells hammered for $29,900. Prices include a 15 percent buyer’s premium.
