A 1952 Mickey Mantle Topps rookie baseball card, graded in Near Mint to Mint 8 condition, sold for $501,900 at a Platinum Night Sports Event held Feb. 20-21 by Heritage Auctions (based in Dallas, Tex.) in New York City. Also, a 1955 Topps Roberto Clemente rookie baseball card, graded PSA Mint 9, went for $478,000; Jerry Kramer’s 1967 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl I championship ring realized $125,475; and the first contract Mickey Mantle signed with the Yankees, in 1949 at age 17, hit $119,500.
