The late actor Paul Newman’s Rolex, the “Paul Newman” Daytona, sold for $17.752 million at an auction held October 26th by Philips, in association with watch auction house Bacs & Russo, in New York City. It was a new world record price paid for a wristwatch at auction. Also, a Patek Philippe ref. 1518 pink gold perpetual calendar watch with moon phase indication earned $975,000; and a Philippe Dufour Diality early platinum wristwatch with double regulator rose to $915,000. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
