Marilyn Monroe’s iconic, form-fitting “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress from JFK’s birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden in New York City sold for $4.81 million at a sale of the late actress’s personal and career items, held Nov. 17-19 by Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles, Calif. The winning bidder was Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Also, Monroe’s Blancpain platinum and diamond watch went for $225,000; and her Pandora minaudiere (evening bag) rose to $187,500. Prices are inclusive of the buyer’s premium.
