Rock Island's Premier Gun Auction to Feature Unique Pieces of History

On the heels of our incredibly successful September Premiere Auction will be an event that threatens to usurp it as the year’s largest, most exciting firearms event. The 2018 December Premiere Firearms Auction is filled to bursting with 17 named collections, rare and beautiful arms in every conceivable genre, and endless opportunities for collectors and investors alike. It is courtesy of the trust of those 17 collectors, and the hundreds upon hundreds of individual consignors, that we are able to provide this remarkable level of quality in such a splendid variety of arms.
Colt collectors at every level will overwhelmed with opportunities to improve their collection, illustrated perfectly by some of the auction’s top arms. In fact, six of the auction’s highest estimates currently belong to this revered manufacturer. Serving as the auction’s flagship is a set of four Colt revolvers held in two vivid cases, inscribed as a presentation from Samuel Colt to Brigadier General Andrew Porter. As if that weren’t enough to turn Colt collectors’ heads, they are accompanied by a letter penned by Colt himself.

Winchester collectors should experience similar levels of awe. The esteemed Larry Jones collection provides a clinic on incomprehensibly high condition Winchesters in a variety of models, and a duo of Model 1886 rifles clad with some of John Ulrich’s finest work again prove that not all art is framed. Those seeking rarity will have difficulty choosing between an ultra rare “One of One Hundred” Model 1873 and the almost never seen Brigg’s patent experimental device on a beautiful Henry rifle.
The continued offering of the extraordinary Allan Cors Collection again ensures a superior selection of rare, high condition U.S. military arms that collectors cannot seem to snatch up quickly enough. A “Gas Trap” M1 Garand, a well accessorized Vickers Model 1915 machinegun, and Springfield M1903 serial number 37 all await new owners from Mr. Cors outstanding assemblage. Other highlights include TWO Singer M1911A1 pistols, an extremely rare North American M1911 pistol serial number 73, and an exceptional Springfield Model 1875 Trapdoor officer’s rifle.
Of course, there simply isn’t time to list all the notable collector firearms in this event, so we encourage you to view the Photo Preview below, as well as subscribe to our social media channels for additional updates, photography, and video showing you just what’s in store for what promises to be a tremendous year-end auction.
We cordially invite you to attend the November 30 – December 2 auction, and also our full day of preview on Thursday, November 29. It’s a day filled with fantastic guns, like-minded collectors and afterward a party to begin the weekend on the proper note. For more information go to: www.rockislandauction.com.
