Results of Recent Auctions From Near and Far

A first edition copy of Henry David Thoreau’s seminal work, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods, sold for $14,400 at an auction held January 11th by PBA Galleries in San Francisco. Also, a first issue copy of John Steinbeck’s equally important literary classic, Of Mice and Men, in the original pictorial dust jacket in fine condition, changed hands for $4,800; and a copy of an early state of the First American Edition of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn made $7,200. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
