A circa 1950s McDonald’s neon sign depicting the restaurant chain’s pre-Ronald McDonald mascot “Speedee” sold for $9,600 at an auction held August 28th by Potter & Potter Auctions in Chicago. Also, a late 19th century Parlor Kinetoscope finished at $6,600; a C. E. Leebold’s “The Leebold” 1-cent gumball vendor fetched $4,800; a “Drink Orange Crush” embossed tin sign gaveled for $3,840; and a Columbus Vending Co. 5-cent Model 38 vendor made $3,600.
