Bertoia Auctions to Present Automobilia Sale August 28

Featured: Stanley Wanlass polychrome bronzes, a 1929 Franklin Series 11 sedan, and a 37-inch 1955 Lincoln Futura styling model

Vineland, NJ — August 2026 — Bertoia Auctions will present The Automobilia Sale on Friday, August 28 at its gallery at 2141 DeMarco Drive in Vineland, New Jersey. The 550-lot event draws from the second installment of the celebrated David Bauer Collection alongside fresh-to-market material, spanning more than a century of automotive history, advertising, and decorative arts.

Five of the sale’s six expected top achievers are polychrome bronze sculptures by the American artist Stanley Wanlass (b. 1941). One example depicts the 1903 San Francisco to New York City automobile endurance run, capturing the romance of early motoring in hand-painted cast bronze, estimated at $8,000-$14,000.

A 1929 Franklin Series 11 sedan, recognized as an original-car award winner at the 1992 Classic Car Club of America concours, is finished in dark green with black fenders and made by the H.H. Franklin Manufacturing Company. It is expected to realize $6,000-$12,000.

A 37-inch-long 1955 Lincoln Futura styling concept model, a hand-built composite scale replica of the Italian concept car introduced by Ford in 1955, is estimated at $1,500-$2,500.

A circa 1905 French gasoline advertising poster by J.L. Sesourd, measuring 40 by 56 inches and promoting Motricine fuel from the Societe Industrielle Francais des Petroles, is a rare piece of petroleum-industry advertising estimated at $4,000-$8,000.

An enameled sterling silver aviation cigarette case, marked 925 and featuring an early airplane graphic, 3 and a half inches long, carries a pre-sale estimate of $1,000-$1,600.

A rare occupational shaving mug for “E Garcia, Importer,” 3 and three-quarter inches tall and in very clean condition, carries a pre-sale estimate of $400-$700.
