Woody Auction’s Multi-Genre Sale Tops $15,000 for Royal Worcester

DOUGLASS, Kansas — August, 2024 —

Woody Auction conducted a strong Multi-Genre Antique Auction on August 22nd at its gallery in Douglass, Kansas, offering more than 340 lots drawn from 18 curated collections spanning the United States. The sale was held in a hybrid format, with bidders participating both on-site and online, and produced competitive results across a broad range of decorative arts and antique categories.

Leading all lots was an exceptional two-handled urn bearing a Royal Worcester mark, which realized $15,600 and drew spirited interest from collectors of fine English porcelain. Close behind was a paperweight signed “L.C.T.” for Louis Comfort Tiffany, a piece that speaks directly to the enduring market strength of American art glass and studio work associated with the Tiffany name, selling for $11,500.

Rounding out the top tier of results was a 100-piece sterling silver flatware service by Reed and Barton in the coveted Francis I pattern, which achieved $9,200. The Francis I pattern, introduced in 1907 and long regarded as one of the most desirable American sterling flatware designs, continues to attract strong collector and estate buyer interest at auction.
