A 19th century Russian icon of Saint Nicholas with a silver oklad and the cyrillic maker’s mark of “AC” (for Alexei Stepanov, Moscow), sold for $17,080 at an Estates Auction held June 20-21 by Crescent City Auction Gallery in New Orleans, La. Another 19th century Russian icon, this depicting Saint Yakov, garnered $14,640. Also, an oil on canvas painting signed “W. Beaumont” and titled Gypsy Girl With Brass Vase, reached $9,760; and a circa 1820 French Restoration gilt bronze figural mantel clock hit $6,100. Prices include an 18.5 percent buyer’s premium.
