A Caille Peerless 5-cent floor roulette slot machine sold for $300,000 at a Coin-Op & Advertising Auction held May 1-3 by Morphy Auctions (based in Denver, Pa.) in Las Vegas, Nev. It was a new world record for a slot machine sold at auction. Also, a deluxe model 1900 Mills Duplex upright slot machine cashed out for $108,000; a circa-1901 Caille Black Cat musical upright slot machine changed hands for $98,000; and a Caille Lion 5-cent slot machine went to a determined bidder for $66,000. Prices include a 20 percent buyer’s premium.
