A German silver framed, exhibition quality, panel scene engraved Winchester Model 1866 rifle, with ties to trick shot Chevalier Ira Paine (“Master Shooter of the World”), sold for $483,000 at a Premiere Firearms Auction held Sept. 9-11 by Rock Island Auction Company in Rock Island, Ill. Also, a gold and platinum handled blade hunting knife owned by President Theodore Roosevelt soared to a record $414,000; and a Model 1866 lever musket, nicknamed “The Three Graces,” also hit the mark for $414,000. Prices are inclusive of the buyer’s premium.
