The Colosseum in Italy – the 2,000-year-old scene of bloody gladiator fights in the days of the Roman Empire – is leaning about 40 centimeters lower on the south side than the north, and officials are

conducting tests to determine what effects traffic on nearby bus roads may be having on the monument. The slant was determined about a year ago during routine tests. The Colosseum attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors a year. The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy was re-opened in 2001 after a decade-long renovation.
