First Edition Copy of Wizard of Oz A first edition copy of L. Frank Baum’s classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, with an inscription by artist W.W. Denslow, sold for $48,000 at a Rare Books, Autographs & Maps auction held April 11th by Doyle in New York City. Also, the Latin grammar book owned by a young Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, with doodles and drawings, fetched $70,350; and a copy of The Warren Commission Report, inscribed for Gerald Ford by President Johnson and the Commission, hit $32,000.
