Propstore Fall Poster Auction Targets $1.5 Million in October

Propstore, one of the world’s leading entertainment memorabilia auction houses, will present its Fall Collectible Posters Auction across three days from October 9-11, 2026, with a total estimated value of $1.5 million. The sale comprises nearly 1,000 lots spanning more than a century of cinema, from silent-era rarities and Golden Age classics to modern blockbusters and an extensive selection of autographed posters. Day One will be broadcast as a live-streamed event, with Days Two and Three conducted online only, each session beginning at 9:30 AM PST.
Leading the auction is a rare one-sheet poster for Walt Disney’s Mickey’s Pal Pluto (1933), estimated at $40,000-$80,000. The piece carries particular historical weight as the first Disney short to feature Pluto’s name in its title, and it appears at Propstore for the first time. Also among the top lots is a stone lithograph one-sheet for Hard to Handle (1933), estimated at $12,000-$24,000, which celebrated James Cagney’s return to Warner Bros. following his celebrated contract dispute with the studio, one of only a few examples known to have surfaced at auction.
International cinema is represented by a country-of-origin Japanese B2 poster for Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai (1954), estimated at $12,000-$24,000, featuring a dramatic photomontage of Toshiro Mifune, Keiko Tsushima, and Takashi Shimura. Further highlights include a first post-war Italian fogli for The Maltese Falcon (1941), estimated at $15,000-$30,000 and attributed to artist Sergio Gargiulo, a Giorgio Olivetti-designed four-fogli for La Dolce Vita (1960) estimated at $10,000-$20,000, and a Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) one-sheet signed by eleven cast and crew members, estimated at $9,500-$19,000.
