Winterthur Presents 63rd Annual Delaware Antiques Show in Wilmington

Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library presents the 63rd annual Delaware Antiques Show, running November 6-8 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware, with a Collector’s Preview on November 5. Now in its seventh decade, the show remains one of the country’s longest-running and most respected showcases of American antiques and decorative arts, drawing collectors, curators, interior designers, and scholars from across the region and beyond. More than 60 vetted dealers will offer works spanning American furniture, folk art, silver, ceramics, textiles, fine art, and garden antiques. The show’s rigorous vetting process has long made it a trusted destination for serious collectors seeking museum-quality material, and this year’s roster of specialists reflects the full breadth of the American decorative arts tradition, from early folk traditions to refined Philadelphia craftsmanship.

A substantial lecture program accompanies the show floor, featuring curators, established scholars, and emerging researchers presenting new work on Revolutionary-era material culture, Philadelphia furniture, needlework, and rural Pennsylvania decorative arts. The keynote address, ‘Photography and Interiors,’ brings together interiors photographer Simon Upton, whose work has appeared in The World of Interiors, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Veranda, and designer Remy Renzullo to explore how photography shapes our understanding of historic interiors.

This year’s programming carries added resonance as Winterthur marks its 75th anniversary alongside the nation’s 250th, with programming that examines the objects, images, and decorative arts that helped define American identity.
