Augusta Auction's Couture & Historic Fashion auction, Nov. 16
A wide selection of vintage fashion and historic textiles gathered from more than a dozen US museums, private collections and estates will go up for auction at Augusta Auction’s Couture & Historic Fashion auction in New York City, November 16.
Other items at the sale include 19th C. corsets and bonnets, a Jumlo button tunic from Pakistan, Turkish caftans, Cheongsams, Chinese robes, & other ethnic clothing, many lots of 18th C. handmade laces, paisleys, silk lingerie, hats, shawls,19th C. printed cotton & wool day dresses, beaded 1920’s flapper dresses and wraps, great accessories from all eras and more.
Highlighting the sale is a collection of eighteen Chinese medals awarded to Kuomintang General Jiang Dingwen. Also to be sold are Chinese garments from General Jiang’s daughter.
Augusta Auction’s Couture & Historic Fashion auction begins at noon on November 16, and will be held at 160 Central Park West on the corner of 76th Street.
