A Carlo Giuliano emerald and enamel bracelet and a Renaissance Revival enamel necklace from the estate of philanthropist Tessa Ader headline Brunk Auctions’ September 3 jewelry sale in Asheville.

Asheville, NC — September 2026 — Brunk Auctions will present museum-quality jewelry by Carlo Giuliano and associated historical jewelers on September 3, with works drawn from the estate of Tessa Ader, the English-born Charlottesville, Virginia, philanthropist who in 2021 donated $50 million to the University of Virginia for the construction of a performing arts center.

Carlo Giuliano established his Frith Street workshop in London around 1860, becoming one of the Victorian era’s foremost goldsmiths through intricate enamel work and Renaissance Revival designs inspired by classical art and architecture. His clients included Queen Victoria and several Pre-Raphaelite artists. His work is today held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the British Museum, and the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.

The sale’s leading lot from the Ader estate, a Carlo Giuliano emerald and enamel bracelet in its original case, is estimated at $20,000-30,000. A Carlo and Arthur Giuliano Renaissance Revival enamel, diamond, and pearl necklace in original case is estimated at $10,000-15,000. A Georgian aquamarine cannetille suite in original fitted leather case carries an estimate of $6,000-9,000, and a Carlo Giuliano Renaissance Revival enamel, diamond, and gem-set pendant is estimated at $5,000-7,000.
