Results of Recent Auctions From Near and Far

A 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Cabriolet automobile, one of only three examples boasting rare coachworks by Vanvooren of Paris, sped off for $7.7 million at the 19th annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance sale held March 11 by RM Auctions and Sotheby’s in Amelia Island, Fla. Also, a 1995 Ferrari F50 brought $2.64 million; a 1956 Maserati A6G/54 Coupe Series III went for $2.365 million; a 1936 Lancia Astura Cabriolet Series III “Tipo Bocca” changed hands for $2.145 million. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
