Results of Recent Auctions From Near and Far

An elegant 18kt gold and enamel octopus pendant/brooch by John Paul Miller sold for $60,500 at a Fine & Decorative Arts Auction held December 9th by Rachel Davis Fine Arts in Cleveland, Oh. Also, another creation by Miller – a sterling and enamel brooch with a fish design – brought $5,745; a group of 14 Chinese coin holders (no coins) fetched $5,140; and an early 19th century American needlepoint on silk “mourning” textile by Phebe Swan hammered for $2,420. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
