A Pour Le Merite (Blue Max) medal, awarded during World War I to German fighter pilot Max Immelman, who brought down eight enemy aircraft, sold for $28,800 at an auction held May 31 by Kaminski Auctions in Beverly, Mass. Also, a World War I Luftwaffe Honor goblet from the same collection went for $18,000; one lot of two paintings on copper by Theophile Soyer (Fr., 1853-1940) brought $9,900; and cowboy Rex Trailer’s hand-tooled parade saddle work by his steed Goldrush hit $4,200. Prices include a 20 percent buyer’s premium.
