A circa 1925 New England gold weathervane made from molded and sheet copper with gold leaf, stand included, sold for $23,220 at auctions held January 8th and 9th by New England Auctions in Branford, CT. Also, a circa 1840 American tavern sign inscribed “Central House, 1843,” made in Connecticut with original wrought iron hanging rod, achieved $23,220; and a 19th century redware compote with brown and green glaze attributed to George Wagner (Pa.), 9 1/2 inches tall, hit $19,350.
