A sculpture by Francois-Xavier Lalanne, titled Ane Plante, sold for $8.4 million at an auction of works by 20th century sculptors Claude and Francois-Xavier Lalanne, from the private collection of their daughter, Marie, held December 7th by Christie’s in New York City. The Ane Plante was a world record for the model. Also, Les Trois Grands Moutons de Peter achieved $6.3 million; and Grand Requin and La Grande Ourse each brought $3.66 million. The auction grossed $77 million.
