Painting by the Beatles, $1.744 million, Christie’s A painting made and signed by all four Beatles in 1966 while they were on tour in Japan, titled Images of a Woman, sold for $1,744,000 at The Exceptional Sale held February 1st by Christie’s in New York. Also, A Meissen porcelain five-vase garniture, circa 1738, finished at $504,000; the gold medal that American long-jumper Bob Beamon won for his record-setting leap at the 1968 Olympics earned $441,000; and a large ormolu-mounted
kingwood four-sided vitrine made $378,000.
