Ogunquit Museum of American Art and Wells Public Library Announce Second Annual Story Trees by the Sea Event December 13 & 14, 2025
 
OGUNQUIT, ME — The Ogunquit Museum of American Art (OMAA) announces the return of the Story Trees by the Sea event, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, December 13th and 14th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This second annual celebration, co-hosted with the Wells Public Library, invites visitors of all ages to experience the museum’s galleries transformed into a magical winter wonderland featuring beautifully decorated trees crafted by local classrooms and community members. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, with no pre-registration required.
Throughout the weekend, visitors will enjoy an array of engaging activities, including children’s stories read by local authors and student ambassadors. Stay for hands-on creative experiences led by Common Roots Studio Mobile Art Bus and artist Heather Lewis. This year, portraits created by Advanced Art students from Traip Academy during a 12-week collaborative project with the museum, will be on view alongside striking photographic portraits by York High School students.
Story Trees by the Sea celebrates the creativity and artistic talent within our community and is part of the 39th Annual Christmas by the Sea festivities in Ogunquit.
Please note: Parking at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art is limited. Complimentary shuttle service to and from the Cape Neddick Country Club parking lot will be available on both days. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Country Club and use the provided transportation.

ABOUT OGUNQUIT MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART (OMAA)
Opened in 1953, OMAA was founded by the artist Henry Strater. The museum shares close historic and geographic ties to one of the earliest modern arts communities in the United States. OMAA houses a permanent collection of paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, and photographs from the late 1800s to the present. The museum showcases American art by mounting modern and contemporary exhibitions and accompanying educational programming and events. OMAA sits on approximately three acres of gardens right on the water with stunning panoramic views of Maine’s iconic coves and outcroppings.
