Takes Epic Cross-Country Doll Road Trip

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Stuart Holbrook is president and chief auctioneer of Theriault’s with a back-
ground in doll collecting that spans nearly three decades. As part of his job, Stuart seeks out the very
best in doll collections to offer at auction. To that end, he is in the midst of a cross-country tour
stretching from Annapolis to Toledo, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco, LA, Dallas,
Atlanta, and back up the Mid-Atlantic coast to Theriault’s headquarters in Maryland.
Along the way, Stuart will be meeting with fans and collectors, dealers and buyers to do appraisals,
share insight into the world of doll collecting, and, of course, seeking the very best dolls and collections
available to sell at Theriaults to its knowledgable bidders.
Stuart has lectured at over 200 doll club meetings and gatherings world-wide for groups as small as
five and as many as 500 so as to promote the idea of “Great Collecting.” Considered to be the world’s
most knowledgeable expert in the market of dolls and their current pricing trends, Stuart’s expertise is
a perfect complement to the knowledge base of researcher Florence Theriault.

October Auctions
The Reaches of the Street Marquis Auction takes place on
October 3 and 4 and is a live auction. The title pays homage to
dolls created during the art character movement, dolls aptly
described in one famous exhibition as “children of the street.”
The auction is highlighted by the important collection of art
character dolls from the late Susan Hill of Fredericksburg,
Virginia. Live telephone and absentee bidding are available.
