A 6.06-carat emerald cut diamond of rare Type Iia D color and potentially flawless clarity, sold for $464,500 at a Fine Jewelry & Timepieces Auction held April 6-8 by Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago, Ill. Also, a Van Cleef & Arpels unheated, Burmese sapphire within a classic diamond surround ring setting soared to $122,500; a Patek Philippe wristwatch for Tiffany (ref. 3448) went for $187,500; and a color-matched sapphire and diamond bracelet by Oscar Heyman Brothers for Ruser hit $40,000. Prices include a 20 percent buyer’s premium.
