The uniform worn by German World War II Luftwaffe Lt. Gen. Josef Schmid, plus Schmid’s “Soldbuch” (or personal effects archive, shown) sold for $20,800 at an internet and catalog auction held June 26-27 by Mohawk Arms, Inc., based in Bouckville, N.Y. Also, a photo signed by Adolf Hitler, taken by his personal photographer Heinrich Hoffmann, brought $3,840; and a uniform lot pertaining to 1st Lt. Cline E. Mason, who served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Force, went for $2,440. Prices include a buyer’s premium (16-22 percent).
