An antique Stollwerck and Chiclets porcelain and wood back vending machine, designed to dispense both chocolate candy and chewing gum, sold for $28,200 at a sale of Antique Advertising and Mechanical Music held August 10-11 by Morphy’s Auctions in Denver, PA. Also, an antique occupational shaving mug with an image of a street cleaner breezed to $11,400; a school zone sign advertising 7-Up soda topped out at $9,000; and an early 20th century reverse-on-glass advertising sign for I. W. Harper Whiskey made $9,000. Prices include a 20 percent buyer’s premium.
