A Shenandoah Valley tall case clock made circa 1800 by Jacob Fry and Caleb Davis in Woodstock, Va., sold for $92,000 at an Americana Sale held Nov. 8 by Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates in Mt. Crawford, Va. Also, a circa-1820 watercolor and ink on paper portrait miniature of Jacob Hockman (1786-1862), attributed to Caleb Davis, hit $7,475; a fraktur done in 1804 by Peter Bernhart, showing birds, florets, tulips and mermaids, rang up $16,100; and a pair of circa-1770 Chippendale-style side chairs brought $16,100. Prices include a 15 percent buyer’s premium.
