Gavels ‘n’ Paddles Recent Auction Results From Near & Far By Ken Hall A Marklin Paddle Wheeler Chicago, made circa 1900-1902 and 31 inches in length, in the original box (not shown), sold for $264,500 at the sale of Part 2 of the Dick Claus Toy Collection held Nov. 10 by Bertoia Auctions in Vineland, N.J. Also, a Marklin Deutschland ocean liner, 28 inches long, made circa 1909-1915, steamed out of port for $149,500; a Marklin Battleship Mexico, Series II, 30 inches long, went for $126,500; and a Marklin battleship with German dreadnought configuration, circa 1915-1934, hit $51,750. Prices include a 15 percent buyer’s premium.
