An original oil on canvas by Pablo Picasso titled Femme assise pres d’une fenetre (1932) sold for $45 million at an Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale held February 5 by Sotheby’s in London, England. Also, Claude Monet’s oil on canvas titled Nympheas avec reflets de hautes herbes (circa 1914-1917) realized $14.16 million; another Monet oil, titled Le Givre a Giverny (1885) hammered for $13.81 million; and an oil on canvas by Joan Miro, titled Femme revant de l’evasion, changed hands for $13.28 million. Prices include a 12 percent buyer’s premium.
