William Trost Richards oil, $300,000, Shannon’s Fine Art

An oil on canvas by William Trost Richards (1833-1905), titled Mother and Child in an Autumn Landscape (1876), sold for $300,000 at a Fall Fine Art Auction held October 30th by Shannon’s Fine Art Auctioneers in Milford, CT.

Also, an oil on canvas by Irving Ramsay Wiles (1861-1948), titled The White Sloop (Peconic Bay) (1907), brought $106,250; and an oil on canvas by Jasper Francis Cropsey (1823-1900), titled Autumn at Greenwood Lake (1871), realized $100,000.
