National Toothpick Holder

Collector Society Convention

LOUISVILLE, KY – The National Toothpick Holder Collectors Society will
hold its annual convention in Louisville, KY on August 7-10, 2019.
Convention Chairperson Melvina Prather has planned a number of exciting
tours and educational sessions. The tours include the Louisville Slugger
Museum, a local antique mall, and Church Hill Downs track and museum.
For those who want to come a day earlier, Prather has arranged for a bus
trip to the Noah’s Ark Adventure. This is a one-of-a-kind exhibit based on the
text found in Genesis telling of the ark Noah built in preparation for the great
flood. It is getting rave reviews.
Our educational sessions will be presented by Paul Philstrup who will
provide information on using eBay and by Richard Ryan who will talk about
rare toothpick holders with stain and other applied finishes. Both promise to
be entertaining and informative.
On Saturday afternoon we will have our traditional Toothpick Holder
Show and Sale. Members prepare competitive displays
of portions of their collection and ribbons
are awarded to the best in each category.
There will also be members selling
toothpick holders.
The Crown Plaza Hotel is the home
base and non-members are invited to attend.
