Eat, Drink, and Be Decorated with Equestrian Style
The celebration of a successful hunt was a bit raucous right after
the hunt and more formal in the evening. But the hundreds and
thousands of fans attending also celebrated. Their love of the sport
moved many porcelain makers to create items for the everyday
home that supported their devotion.
In this issue of Journal of Antiques and
Collectibles, we explore some of the more
famous artworks and figurines that grew out
of a love for animals. To say fox hunting
found its way into every home—especially in
England, where the sport began—would be an
understatement.
