PH: Our seller didn’t include much in the way of details for this vase – no
size, no description, no attempt at identifying the maker. The vase pictured
is very typical of vases produced and decorated in Japan around the turn of
the 20th century. They are commonly referred to as Hand-Painted Nippon
and often have a mark to that effect on the base, or it may be unmarked.
The word “Nippon” is how Japan in Japanese is pronounced. Nippon was
