Danbury, CT… The 10th Annual Vintage Show will be held April 18-19 at the Police Athletic League Building in Danbury, CT. This little gem of a show fills 10,000 square feet of colorful space at the Police Athletic League Building with vintage clothing, accessories, textiles, and jewelry – everything the vintage lover needs to “Recycle in Style™”.
Vivien Cord and Ed McClure have kept this one show which stands between them and full retirement because “it’s such a pleasure to behold!” The Show & Sale will feature Victorian through 1980’s clothing for men, women and children; buttons, lace and trim; vintage purses and beaded bags; vintage costume jewelry, Bakelite, silver, Native American and extra fine antique jewelry; dressing table accessories; belts, hats and shoes; sleepwear and lingerie; fans; gloves; combs; compacts and spectacles and vintage textiles including colorful linens and to quote Elaine Herzog, “soft white linens both beautiful as well as practical.”
Dealers have 16’ booths allowing them to be creative and to bring enough merchandise to set up a shop. An early list of dealers includes Nell Antiques (MA), Sophia’s Antiques (NY), XO Vintage LLC (CT), Funky Fashions (NJ), Art From the Attic(MA), Olivia Garay Vintage Retro (SC), Saturday’s Child (NJ), Gallery 237 (NY),Sophie’s Threads (NY), Miss Elly’s Antiques & Such (PA), Incogneeto (NJ),Vintage Gems (NY), Queen Ann’s Laces (CT), and Redinger’s (CT).
Doors will open early on Saturday April 18th for a chance to be among the first to shop at 8:30am. The cost for this preview is $15 with coffee and tea included. Regular admission runs from 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday for $8 (12 and under free). As in the past, all high school and college students with ID are invited to attend free on Sunday.
The PAL Building is nestled just off I-84 in Danbury, at 35 Hayestown Road. From I-84 Eastbound take exit 5 or Westbound exit 6 and follow the show signs. By train, take the Metro-North Railroad, Danbury Line. The PAL is only 2.6miles away. Call ahead for a taxi, 203-792-8294 or 203-743-3007. There is lots of free parking around the building with a lovely park bordering Candlewood Lake just across the street for an after-show stroll.
