Gavels and Paddles Results of Recent Auctions From Around the World An original painting by Chinese painter Lee Man Fong sold for $1.3 million at an Asia Week Auction held September 9 by Freeman’s in Philadelphia. Also, a large Chinese flambe glazed porcelain vase, Qianlong mark and period, soared to $182,500; a Chinese imperial zitan long table, Qianlong mark, brought $134,500; a fine Chinese famille rose peach and bat porcelain vase, Daoguang mark and period, hammered for $80,500; and a pair of Chinese carved spinach jade table screens on ivory stands made $59,375. Prices include a 15 percent buyer’s premium.
