Gavels ’n’ Paddles Recent Auction Results from Near and Far By Ken Hall A standard glaze portrait vase showing a beautifully rendered cocker spaniel, 13 inches tall and artist signed “M. Timberlake,” sold for $2,640 at an auction held February 15-17 by Matthews Auctions, LLC, based in Nokomis, Illinois. The three-day event was held in Raymond, Illinois. Also, a Husky Tri-Power porcelain pump plate sign with dog graphics, rated 8.9 out of 10 for condition, realized $2,310; and a Zerolene (“The Standard Oil for Motor Cars”) single-sided porcelain sign, 6 inches in diameter, rated 8.9, hit $1,045. Prices include a 10 percent buyer’s premium.
