A high-grade 1908 Chinese Hunan government banknote for 100 coppers sold for $15,220 at an auction conducted January 26 in Hong Kong, China by Archives International Auctions, based in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Also, a Yu Ning Imperial Bank 1907 “Ch’eng Yang” copper coin issue realized $6,850; a Board of Trade 5-Tael issued banknote went for $8,370; a Hong Kong $500 1931 Bank of India, Australia and China banknote realized $7,610; and a pair of uncirculated MS-66 Japanese Coiled Dragon dollar coins hit $3,960 each. Prices include an 18 percent buyer’s premium.
