Results of Recent Auctions From Around the World
An original painting by 17th century artist Willem Claesz Heda, titled Still Life With Tazza, Peeled Lemon, and Roemer, sold for $666,000 at a sale of American & European Works of Art held September 7 by Skinner, Inc., in Boston, MA. Also, a 17th century Continental School work titled Portrait of a Man in a Ruff went for $79,625; Milky Way, a contemporary work by Walasse Ting, hammered for $93,615; and a print of Rembrandt van Rijn’s Nude Man Seated on the Ground With One Leg Extended made $23,700. Prices include an 18.5 percent buyer’s premium.
