A rare and historically important anti-slavery flag banner sold for $46,800 at an Americana & Fine Antiques Auction held June 22-23 by Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates in Mt. Crawford, Va. Also, a diminutive Stirewalt family paint-decorated box changed hands for $38,025; a Haida carved and painted cedar totem pole knocked down for $19,890; a Joseph Ives wall clock chimed on time for $17,550; and a Piedmont (N.C.) paint-decorated jelly cupboard rose to $10,530. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
