An acrylic on Masonite painting by Bob Kuhn (1920-2007), titled Closing the Distance, sold for $409,500 at the 11th annual Jackson Hole Art Auction, held Sept. 15-16 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and co-hosted by Trailside Galleries and Gerald Peters Gallery. Also, Kuhn’s Onward and Upward hit $152,100; Navajo Scouting Party by Edgar Alwin Payne (1883-1947) realized $304,200; and New Horizons and Sheriff and Citizens of the Law, both by W.H.D. Koerner, each rose to $175,500. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
