A letter written by Alexander Hamilton to James Madison in 1790, mentioning Thomas Jefferson, sold for $113,850 at an auction held April 28th by Lion Heart Autographs, Inc. in New York City. Also, Mahatma Gandhi’s quote on faith realized $11,500; a handwritten Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening poem by Robert Frost fetched $35,650; a John Adams letter about the war between France and Britain brought $26,450; and a Benjamin Franklin inscription went for $14,375. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
