U.S. Border Patrol agents working in southern Arizona’s Patagonia Mountains have stumbled on a pair of artifacts that could be 1,000 years old. While making their rounds, the agents spotted two pieces of Native American pottery, one of which appears to be fully intact (a rare find in itself), and the other is part of a larger piece of pottery. They appeared to be made from clay and had a weathered appearance (understandable). Border Patrol agents are trained in cultural and environmental stewardship in the event of such finds.
