Pete Rose’s copy of the 1990 agreement that banned the disgraced star from baseball failed to meet the reserve amount in an October sale conducted by Goldin Auctions. Bidding did climb to $236,000 ($259,600, when factoring in the 10 percent buyer’s premium), but that still wasn’t enough to satisfy the unnamed seller (not Rose). Among items that did sell: Barry Lyons’ 1986 New York Mets World Series ring ($22,840); a 2009 Derek Jeter game-used bat ($8,982); and a Michael Jordan American Express card ($3,146).
