A 23-inch character doll as Polichinelle (right), shown clasping a rare 9 1/2 inch bebe A.T. by Thuillier, sold for $31,000 and $40,000, respectively, at a mid-summer doll auction held by Theriault’s, based in Annapolis, Md. Also, a 12-inch model 102 doll in the original costume by Kammer and Reinhardt, and a 23-inch aged woman doll, maker unknown, made $24,000 and $42,500, respectively; and a model 175 doll by Hertel and Schwab, with one glass googly eye and one winking eye, gaveled for $30,000. Prices are hammer, exclusive of the buyer’s premium.
