Ken's Korner: Man trips and falls, shatters Qing vases

Ken’s Korner: Man trips and falls, shatters Qing vases – The Journal of Antiques and Collectibles – April 2006
A visitor to the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England, tripped on a shoelace and set off a most unfortunate chain of events. The man, who was not identified, tried to steady himself as he fell down a staircase, but it just made matters worse. The shaking and tumbling caused a set of priceless Qing vases that had stood on a shelf for 40 years to come crashing down. The 300-year-old vases are a popular draw at the museum. Officials said they will try to piece them back together.
