A fine French fusil de chasse (or hunting musket), with wampum bead decoration, dated 1759, sold for $102,000 at the sale of the 70-year Walter J. O’Connor historical Americana collection held September 26th by Morphy Auctions in Denver, Pa. Also, an engraved road map powder horn belonging to John Cox (Fort Pitt, Pa.), dated 1764, realized $84,000; and a Francis Pfister folding map of the Hudson River Corridor, dated 1758, with the original map case, went for $84,000. Prices include the buyer’s premium.
