Ford’s Theater tickets, $262,500, RR Auction A pair of tickets from the play Our American Cousin, seats D41 and D42, held April 14, 1865, at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C., where President Abraham Lincoln was shot and killed by John Wilkes Booth, sold for $262,500 in an online auction held September 23rd by RR Auction, based in Boston. The tickets cost 75 cents in 1865. Also, a first-edition book of the 1858 debates between Lincoln and Stephen Douglas, signed by Lincoln for his former law apprentice, brought $593,750.
